What I've read and/or posted since my last Monday Post:

Currently Reading:

A Red Herring without Mustard (Flavia de Luce, Bk 3) by Alan Bradley; Read by Jayne Entwistle

I've started various other books, but I haven't settled on one

Upcoming:

Who knows?  There should definitely be a New Years post.

Life:

I'm sick, again.  Apparently I can't shake this.  I've had a fever and been hacking.  I went to a family Christmas thing Friday, telling them I was just coughing but not contagious (I really believed that at the time!).  Then I had to leave work early Saturday, was sick all Sunday, and called off for today.  I'm guessing bronchitis, though I can't say for certain since no insurance means no doctor visit.  But I've been sleeping a LOT.  And not reading much.

What I read this past week:

I didn't finish anything.  Hence no Cozy Cull this week.

What I posted this week:

Beyond Courage : The Untold Story of Jewish Resistance During the Holocaust by Doreen Rappaport; Read by Jeff Crawford and Emily Beresford

Currently Reading:

A Casual Vacancy by J. K. Rowling; Read by Tom Hollander (library audiobook copy)

A Spoonful of Murder (Soup Lover's Mystery, Bk 1) by Connie Archer (library copy)

Sketch Me If You Can (Portrait of Crime Mystery, Bk 1) by Sharon Pape (personal copy - this will be the next Cozy Cull Book)

Upcoming:

Finish Sketch Me If You Can and post the next Cozy Cull Giveaway.

I got Monday and the Murdered Man back through ILL, but it's due on the 14th so I need to hustle and read it lest I have to return it unfinished again.  I don't think I can get it a 3rd time.

Life:

I took something of a vacation after Thanksgiving, so I was off of work the first couple days of the week.  As soon as I went back to work I was sick (again) with a cold this time.  Grrr.  But I worked anyway, AND I managed to get a little more reading in this week.  So I'm happy about that.

What I've read in the past week:

I finished listening to Beyond Courage : The Untold Story of Jewish Resistance During the Holocaust by Doreen Rappaport; Performed by Jeff Crawford and Emily Beresford.  Post to come.  I have to double check the ISBN and such, and the cover is at work.

Widow's Web (Elemental Assassin, Bk 7) by Jennifer Estep

Illusions (Wings, Bk 3) by Aprilynne Pike

Destined (Wings, Bk 4) by Aprilynne Pike

The Diva Takes the Cake (Domestic Diva Mystery, Bk 2) by Krista Davis

All Sales Fatal (Mall Cop Mystery, Bk 2) by Laura DiSilverio

What I've posted in the last week:

Illusions (Wings, Bk 3) by Aprilynne Pike

Destined (Wings, Bk 4) by Aprilynne Pike

The Diva Takes the Cake (Domestic Diva Mystery, Bk 2) by Krista Davis

All Sales Fatal (Mall Cop Mystery, Bk 2) by Laura DiSilverio

  • Hide and Sneak by Michael Arvaarluk Kusugak; Illustrated by Vladyana Krykorka
  • My Arctic 1, 2, 3 by Michael Arvaarluk Kusugak; Illustrated by Vladyana Krykorka
  • Don't Laugh at Giraffe by Rebecca Bender

Currently Reading:

The Casual Vacancy by J. K. Rowling; Read by Tom Hollander

Upcoming:

The next Cozy Cull book.  I'm currently debating between:
  1. Clobbered by Camembert (Cheese Shop Mystery, Bk 3) by Avery Aames
  2. Sketch Me If You Can (Portrait of Crime Mystery, Bk 1) by Sharon Pape
  3. Beef Stolen-Off (Clueless Cook Mystery, Bk 2) by Liz Lipperman
Preferences?

And surprise! I have more children's books to post.  I'm never going to catch up with those.

Plus I'd like to read one of more of my surplus of library books if at all possible.

Life:

We celebrated Thanksgiving Day (at my uncle's house), for which I actually put together a dish (which I NEVER do)... a veggie platter that looked liked a Turkey (thanks to Pinterest and the blog it originally came from).

I also finally joined Goodreads!  For now you have to be on Goodreads to see my profile.  I might make that more public once I get a feel for the site.  As it is, the reason I took so long getting on there was because I couldn't get my location not to show when I first tried a few years ago.  This time I could hide it, so here I am!!!

What I've Read in the Past Week:

I haven't gotten much reading done this past week.  I finished Finger Lickin' Dead (Memphis BBQ Mystery, Bk 2) by Riley Adams, and that is about it.

Oh, and various children's books.

What I've Posted in the Past Week:

  • Oh, No! by Candice Fleming; Illustrated by Eric Rohmann
  • Shiver Me Timbers!: Pirate Poems & Paintings by Douglas Florian; Illustrated by Robert Neubecker
  • Little Nelly's Big Book by Pippa Goodhart; Illustrated by Andy Rowland
  • Time (Out) for Monsters! by Jean Reidy; Illustrated by Robert Neubecker
The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag (Flavia de Luce Mystery, Bk 2) by Alan Bradley; Read by Jayne Entwistle

Finger Lickin' Dead (Memphis BBQ, Bk 2) by Riley Adams

Currently Reading:

I'm still working on Beyond Courage : The Untold Story of Jewish Resistance During the Holocaust by Doreen Rappaport; Performed by Jeff Crawford and Emily Beresford

I haven't started a print book yet.

  3. The Diva Takes the Cake (Domestic Diva Mystery, Bk 2) by Krista Davis
The first option has a Winter Wonderland faire, so it's the right season, but I felt kinda ambivalent about the first two books in that series.
The second sounds interesting, and it's a book I bought new, so it'll have that new book feel.
The third option is out of season, but I really enjoyed the first book in the series.

Any preferences?

I have either the next Three Pines/Chief Inspector Armand Gamache Mystery audiobook OR the next Flavia de Luce Mystery audiobook once I finish Beyond Courage.  Both of these choices work for the Canadian Book Challenge.

I have more children's books to post (Seems I ALWAYS have more to post).  I'm running out of titles for these posts.  Any tips?
