It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (7/30/2012)

Hosted by: Sheila @ Book Journey

(If you'd like to participate you can go here.)

So this Saturday and Sunday we had a yard sale in which I attempted to sell the books set aside for that purpose during the big clean out (I had also added some mysteries since the clean out).

I restocked some as I sold as well.  I ended up having some grazing with two big sales.

One lady purchased 57 paperbacks on Saturday.  She said she buys for her 80some year old mother and 5 of her mother's friends (and gave me contact info so I can notify her when I have more!).  On Sunday I had another lady buy 17 hardbacks and 33 paperbacks (3 tradesize, but I charged just paperback).

Those two big sales were what made it worth it.  Because I knew book lovers would be getting those books.

Anyway... during these two days, I didn't read anything (except my audio when in the car and a children's book with the nephew and niece).  What reading I did do was earlier in the week.  On that note...

In the past week I've read and posted:

The Thirteenth Chime (Sense of Truth, Bk 1) by Emma Michaels (ILL library copy)

Prince of Thorns (Broken Empire, Bk 1) by Mark Lawrence (Library ebook copy)

A Girl Named Digit (Digit, Bk 1) by Annabel Monaghan (Library copy)

Currently reading:

Seal Team Six: Memoirs of an Elite Navy Seal Sniper by Howard E. Wasdin & Stephen Templin; Read by Ray Porter (Audiobook library copy)

I'm working my way through this whenever I'm in the car... on disc 5 of 8.

The Pagemaster Storybook by David Kirschner, David Casci, Ernie Contreras; Illustrated by Len Smith (personal copy)

I'm reading this to my older nephew and niece.  We're working slowly with this one because they're 3 and 4, it's a longer picture book, and my voice gets strained from the different voices.  I also have the movie.  They watched it yesterday, but I'll watch it with them today.

Dearly, Departed (Gone With the Respiration, Bk 1) by Lia Habel (Library ebook copy)

I checked this out when I checked out Prince of Thorns.  I was drawn by the cover.  Now that I've started it, though, I realize I'm not entirely in the right mood.  This means it's been slow going.

This week's reading possibilities include:

I didn't read any of last week's possibilities.  I'm thinking it's pointless to list all those books when I don't really know what I'll be reading from one moment to the next.

  1. Holy Smokes! You did well! As far as reading, I'm not sure what fiction book I'll be reading next. I'm sort of on a BBC/Masterpiece Theater craze. I have gobs (yes, seriously) that I've been checking out from my library and my library's OverDrive. I have, however, started reading Rhonda Byrne's new book, "The Magic." It turned out to be a workbook of sorts where there's an exercise to do each day for 28 days. Guess what I'll be doing for the month of August.

    1. I don't know. I just think your version of gobs and mine are a bit different. ;p

Have you ever read The Secret? That's one of those big title books that has been around forever that I just never thought about reading for myself.

    2. Yep! And "The Power," "The Secret Gratitude Book," which was more of a journal and her "Daily Teachings." I'm a dedicated fan...lol.

    1. Just finished the book and the movie. It was cute. The way the library is portrayed in the movie though... dark and gloomy and EMPTY. I was a bit shocked.

    1. I think I'm just gonna have to settle in and start reading. I'm sure once I get properly into it I'll think it's as awesome as you do. =)
