Moving Along...

How to Moon a Cat  (Cats and Curios Mystery, Bk 3) by Rebecca M. Hale (personal copy - purchased at Borders closing sale) - Better than book 2.  It was still from a plethora of perspectives including some odd one such as bricks in a wall and the moon.  Despite being better than book 2, I won't be reading more of this series.

No Such Thing as Dragons by Phillip Reeve (library copy) - Cute.  I enjoyed it.  I do wish it had ended differently, mostly because I had all sorts of ideas about how it could end while I was reading and the author didn't choose any of them. =)  Anyway, it's always a pleasure reading the occasional Children's book.  They can be such fun.

Clockwork Angel  (Infernal Devices, Bk 1) by Cassandra Clare (personal copy - purchased at Borders closing sale) - Interesting.  I was first drawn to the cover, which I fell in love with the first time I saw it over a year ago.  I have the first 3 of the Mortal Instrument series, but I'm waiting to read them until after I've read this series.  It's the whole prequel thing.

While I'm summing up my reading I should mention another author whose book's I've been enjoying.  Anna Dewdney.  Over the past month or two I've had the chance to read several of her children's books.  VERY cute.  I've enjoyed them and shared them with my family, esp. my 4 y.o. nephew and 2 y.o. niece.

I've picked up the pace on my reading.  It'll have to hold me over for the next week, because work's going to take over, what with co-workers requesting off for the Halloween weekend.  I've read...

Pale Demon  (The Hollows, Bk 9) by Kim Harrison (library copy) - Another enjoyable book about Rachel Morgan.  I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series, A Perfect Blood.

Moving is Murder  (Mom Zone Mystery, Bk 1) by Sara Rosett  (library copy) - An enjoyable cozy.  I'll be moving on with this series as soon as I catch up with some other library books I have out.

A Taste of Nightlife (Vampire Chef Mystery, Bk 1) by Sarah Zettel (purchased at Borders closing sale) - I really liked this vampire cozy, and I'm looking forward to reading the next, Let Them Eat Stake.

English Tea Murder (Lucy Stone Mystery, Bk 17) by Leslie Meier (library copy) - The writing was fine, but I didn't like the ending.  I got it, just didn't like it.  I can't say more without major spoilers.

The Homing Instinct (Harlequin Silhouette Romance, No 747) by Dixie Browning (personal copy - used from ???) - A nice quick read.  This is why I like Harlequin/Silhouette.

Butterface (Short Story - scroll down a little for the desc.) by Gwen Hayes (ebook given by author through Trick or Treat event [10/24/11 - 10/31/11]) - I was intrigued the moment I read the description, and I read it as soon as I downloaded it.  I had no idea what a butterface is. =/  I liked it, and I'm glad I had the chance to read it.  The ending was a bit abrupt, but it was a short story so that's pretty typical.

Nine Lives Last Forever (Cats and Curios Mystery, Bk 2) by Rebecca M. Hale (personal copy - from paperbackswap.com) - This series is driving me nuts.  I bought the 3rd one new (Border's closing sale), and I'm supposed to mail it off for a swap.  I'd like to read it first.  But BOTH the 1st book and this one were hard for me to get into.  It's not really a someone is murdered, let's figure out who did it kind of mystery.  That's part of the problem.  It's in multiple viewpoints.  That's another.  And there is so much description and detail about San Fransisco history that I don't care to go into such depth about... There's a third.  I was tempted not to finish, but it managed to pick up (finally) 2/3s in.  We'll have to see if I manage the 3rd.  It has to be mailed by Nov. 2.

Lately...

I haven't read much since my last update.

I did finish How to Wash a Cat (Cats and Curios, 1) by Rebecca Hale (I own).  I have the next 2 books in this series, but while I liked this, it took me longer to get through.  I need a break before I read Bk's 2 and 3.

I also read Second Grave on the Left (Charley Davidson, 2) by Darynda Jones (library copy).  I liked it better than the first (and I enjoyed the first).  Bk 2 had great humor, plus I was into the story.  Can't wait for book 3.

I read Sleight of Paw (Magical Cats, 2) by Sofie Kelly aka Darlene Ryan (library copy).  I look forward to reading book 3.

I'm not sure what to read next I have so many choices. I've been wanting to do some re-reading lately (I guess it comes with fall), but that would require making a mess digging the books out.  Plus I also have several library books to read.  Who knew choosing what to read could be so difficult?
