Life:
Apparently life never settles down, and it usually revolves around my family. My sister's MIL recently passed and that has consumed much of my free time - between the memorial and cleaning out her apartment... I've been helping them with labor for various tasks. There has also been drama surrounding the above that I hope has settled down.
Lately, I've been reading:
A Rule Against Murder aka The Murder Stone (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache Mystery aka Three Pines Mystery, Bk 4) by Louise Penny; Read by Ralph Cosham (audiobook) (For the
The Canadian Book Challenge 6)
How to Host a Killer Party (Part-Planner Mystery, Bk 1) by Penny Warner (For the
Cruisin' thru the Cozies Reading Challenge 2013) (And for which I have a Cozy Cull GIVEAWAY.)
The Lightening Thief (Percy & the Olympians, Bk 1) by Rick Riordan; Read by Jesse Bernstein (audiobook)
Tracking Justice (Texas K-9 Unit, Bk 1) by Shirlee McCoy
and various Children's books which I've yet to post.
Currently, I'm reading:
Speaking From Among the Bones by Alan Bradley; Read by Jayne Entwistle (audiobook) (For the
Historical Mystery Reading Challenge 2013)
A Secret Gift: How One Man's Kindness - and a Trove of Letters - Revealed the Hidden History of the Great Depression by Ted Gup (For the
Postal Reading Challenge 2013)
You're Nobody Til Somebody Kills You (Rat Pack Mystery, Bk 4) by Robert J. Randisi
(For the
Historical Mystery Reading Challenge 2013)
Upcoming:
Who knows? I've been trying to work on challenges and finishing various series I've started. And returning library books.
Right now I have an abundance of audiobooks (see: Argh! In which I'm overrun by audiobooks!) and other library books. I have several library cozy mysteries, including a decent number of Amish cozy mysteries.
- Material Witness (Shipshewana Amish Mystery, Bk 3) by Vannetta Chapman
- A Plain Death (Appleseed Creek Mystery, Bk 1) by Amanda Flower
- Assaulted Pretzel (Amish Mystery, Bk 2) by Laura Bradford aka Elizabeth Lynn Casey
So, what are you reading?
Sorry about the drama :( Death can bring out so many feelings...I hope it's resolved soon!
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting through all of your audio books! ;)
Have a good week!
It does. And thanks. I'm finishing up one. I'll just have to take them as they come.
DeleteI'm so sorry to hear what you've been going through.
ReplyDeleteI hope reading helps. I've been wanting to read the Penny Warner books for a long time, but haven't had the time.
Reading helps stress, but it always seems to be pushed off when things start going crazy.
DeleteSorry to hear about the drama and hopefully it's amicably resolved. I have way too many library books out too, and think some may end up being returned unread - I so hate to do that though.
ReplyDeleteI hate returning them unread too. I have a list titled "Try Again" for all those books. It keeps getting longer - so depressing.
DeleteGrief has a way of complicating everything - I hope things settle down
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your reading choices this week!

I'm just glad the drama isn't within the family itself.
DeleteI plan to. =)
Hope books rescue you from what ails your heart and mind this week! Sounds like you have some great escapes planned through the pages of books. Love all the mystery books you have on your list. Hope you'll pay me a visit and check out my reading list...http://momssmallvictories.com/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-march-11-2013/
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the family drama! As far as reading, I've been failing on the written word as far as fiction goes. Mostly been reading nonfiction. However, my audio book listening has increased.
