It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (10/15/2012)

Hosted by: Sheila @ Book Journey

(If you'd like to participate you can go here.)

Life:

My ma has had both of her surgeries and is still recovering.  In the meantime, she seems to have decided being stuck at home is the perfect opportunity to get some projects done.  She can't really do much herself, but she has no problem making lists and directing others.  Nothing else is going on in life other than the usual.

What I've Read and/or Posted in the Last Few Weeks:

The Cabinet of Wonders by Marie Rutkoski; Read by Lorelei King

The Night Bookmobile by Audrey Niffenegger

The Ugly Duchess by Eloisa James

Darth Vader and Son by Jeffrey Brown

Even More Kids Books... including:  Awesome Autumn ; The Cutest Critter ; Lenore Finds a Friend: A True Story from Bedlam Farm ; Dinosaur vs. the Library

Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins; Read by Paul Boehmer

The Wicked Wager by Anya Wylde

Beyond the Spiderwick Chronicles: The Nixie's Song and A Giant Problem by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black ; Read by Andrew McCarthy

A Lady of His Own by  Stephanie Laurens

Gregor and the Prophecy of the Bane by Suzanne Collins; Read by Paul Boehmer

That looks like a lot but I've hardly been reading at all.  Most of what I have been able to read are either audiobooks, children's books, or both.

Currently Reading:

Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods by Suzanne Collins; Read by Paul Boehmer

Upcoming Reads:

Hopefully I'll be able to read The Wyrm King (part of the Beyond the Spiderwick Chronicles series) by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black ; Read by Andrew McCarthy

We'll see about what I actually manage to read.  As for posts... I have many more children's books to post.

  1. How are you finding the Gregor books? Are they as good as The Hunger Games?
    Have an awesome week!

    1. I wasn't a huge fan of the Hunger Games. But I'm really enjoying the Gregor books. In fact, I just stayed up more than half the night listening to the third one...

  2. I've only read the first book in the Spiderwick Chronicles. Thanks for the review! I might finish reading them. =)

    1. I enjoyed all of them. There is something about some fantastical children's stories that helps when things are entirely too stressful in real life.

  3. I did pick up "The Night Bookmobile" by Audrey Niffenegger. The ending!?! I was like (0.0) I'm just going to say, I don't feel that was a good message about the love of books. Just saying...

    1. Do you understand why I couldn't really say more?

    2. No kidding. It would have been a major spoiler. And don't get me wrong, I don't regret getting/reading the book. I was just left a bit speechless.
