This week:
I did a mini overview of the first half of 2012 here.
In the past week I've read:
Curious Critters by David FitzSimmons (library book)
A children's book and huge hit with my nephew and niece. The nephew especially liked the Virginia Opossum (he plays dead every time that page is read) and the Eastern Spiny Softshell Turtle (he cracks up laughing every time he sees the picture). Both of them enjoyed asking me, "What's this one?" over and over for each animal pictured.
Arrows of the Queen and Magic's Pawn by Mercedes Lackey (personal copies)
Both re-reads. Both firsts in Valdemar trilogies. I also did some quick skipping through Arrow's Fall, Magic's Promise, and Magic's Price. But I didn't entirely read any of those.
I'm currently reading:
This book was recommended to me by one of my cousins. He was so enthusiastic about it, and he's never been much of a reader so I had to try it. I thought audio would be ideal for the genre.
Gold Digger (Klondike Mystery, bk 1) by Vicki Delany (library ILLed copy)
This is interesting, but not quite what I expected. It's early yet (I'm on page 49) so we'll see how it goes.
This week's reading possibilities include:
More Mercedes Lackey re-reads. And maybe I'll read Foundation (Collegium Chronicles, Bk 1). That's a new to me.
More cozy mysteries. I'm not going to re-list them, but you can see the previous What Are You Reading? if you're interested.
I'd like to read some romance, but I'm not sure that'll happen. I suppose it depends on if the upcoming holiday gives me more opportunity to read or less.
All your reads look really good I hope you enjoy them! +New GFC follower :)

ReplyDeleteLooks like you're a Mercedes Lackey fan! I've enjoyed what I've read of her work but my favorites are the fairy godmother series. I'm a sucker for fairy tales of any kind. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteI read the entire Magic's Pawn series with my husband when we were Hawaii. Fond memories!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite read last week was The Bride's Kimono by Sujata Massey. Please come see what else I'm reading.
Crazy Love is a good read - I never considered how it would be as an audiobook.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
