Comments:

I've enjoyed Molly Harper's books in the past.  And I tend to enjoy books (or at least romances) set in Alaska.  I'd love to visit there; if I thought I could realistically handle it, I think living there would be great.  Of course reality and the way I picture things going in my head can be so vastly different.

Anyway, the book started with those advantages.  Beyond that, Mo's background is just so different and strange, it would be hard not to be interested.  I love the way she manages to insert herself into the community.  And then you get to the paranormal werewolf thing.  I really enjoyed Mo and Cooper's relationship.

Overall, it was a really fun read.  I was definitely interested in reading more, too.  Unfortunately, the second book in the Naked Werewolf series, The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf, is about Cooper's sister Maggie, who I didn't care for.  So I'm hesitant, but I'm sure it'll be one of those books that makes me wonder what took me so long once I actually do read it.

  1. Ha-Ha! I have a thing for Alaska too and I think I'd actually last an entire year...with the right clothing. And warm cabin. And a snowmobile. And my favorite hot beverages. And let's not forget about hand and feet warmers. :)

  2. I could maybe do a year. I'd just need my books, and a job, and someone to help me socialize.

  3. LOL! When I think of Alaska, the last thing I think of doing is socializing. With all that snow? I'd be like a bear and hibernate inside for the winter. Then in the spring, I'd want to see everything. I bet Alaska would be good for novelists. :) They could get a book written in a year...in the cold months.

    1. Good point. You'd have your writing. Me, as much as I love reading I would sink into a depression without SOME socialization. Besides, half the appeal of the books about Alaska (for me) is seeing how the newcomer characters fit in with the locals.

    2. As if the point hasn't been made about my weirdness, I'll drive the point home with this. The thought of socializing never occurred to me. Yes, really. I can just picture me in a decade or two. All I'll need is twenty or so cats in the background. :(

    3. Well I'm no good at socializing, but I still need it. I completely get the cat lady thing though.

  4. LOL 365andMe, I'm the same way! I'd hibernate all winter and peek my head out when it warmed up a little. I need solitude and a few pets :)

    2. Of COURSE my cats would be coming. But you really think you could hibernate all winter (and Alaska has a long winter)?

    3. Oh I could do it, no problem! As long as I had a computer, my pets, books and plenty of chocolate I would be in heaven.

  5. Not sure about barklesswagmore, but I think I could. Seriously. As my kids have gotten older...and I've gotten older, I socialize less in real life. If not for having to taxi them around and the library, weeks could pass without me getting out.

    2. I was visualizing this in the shower this morning. I'd stop shaving my armpits and legs; stop plucking my eyebrows. I couldn't skip showers--even my own B.O. makes me sick, but I'd wear sweats all the time. Not care about getting out stains when washing clothes. Never, ever worry about what my hair looks like. (lol) Within a short time, I'd be so scary looking, no one would want to visit. I'd be perfect for Halloween though!
