Comments: First, I've linked to this on FictionDB if you're interested in reading a description.  I received this for free as part of my TellHarlequin  holiday package.  As for my thoughts... I enjoyed it.  It was a quick read, and it helped me live, for a time, through this blasted cold I have.

I liked the characters (though I wasn't a fan of their names... Brandt Western and Mimi Van Hoyt.  I don't know if it's just me, but seriously?)  They were nice.  Mimi had a tendency to beat up on herself, but it was in a way that I could relate with.  I'm all about the self-hate and it was nice to see her happy ending despite all her "negatives."  And hey... I didn't notice until I saw a review calling it rated G, but no sex scenes in this one.
Anyway, I enjoyed it.  Plus it fit "The name of a place in the title (whether a country or small city or town)" category in the Harlequin Silhouette 2012 Reading Challenge.  A great start to the new year. =)

  1. That was one thing I loved about Harlequin's book clubs, the free books. :) I miss those days, but I have too many on the shelf and on the Kindle to think about joining one of those.

I've made a promise this year to NOT buy books unless it's about research. With our library and Lendle, I don't need any. Even Amazon is getting into the lending program. :)

  2. I just can't give up on having my own books... even as I intend to continue cutting back. 'Bout time Amazon got with it. You can rent Kindle books through my library now, but I hadn't heard of Lendle. Interesting.

  3. Jo, have you tried the rental through Amazon/Overdrive? I think it's cool. Lendle works the same way.

  4. I haven't tried actually doing the Overdrive Amazon thing because I don't have a Kindle. I have done the "2011 Overdrive eBook Explosion" webinar so I've seen the demo of how it works.

  5. Jo, I became addicted to OverDrive with audio books. Unfortunately, I don't listen to many audios any more. My reading habits have changed big time!
