It's Monday! What are you reading? (3/1/2010)

This meme is now hosted by Sheila @ One Person's Journey Through a World of Books.

This past week I posted on:
This past week I read:
  • Dead Air by Mary Kennedy (Obsidian)
  • The Scarletti Curse by Christine Feehan (Love Spell) (re-read)
  • Lair of the Lion by Christine Feehan (Leisure) (re-read)
  • Every Which Way but Dead by Kim Harrison (HarperTorch)
  • A Fistful of Charms by Kim Harrison (HarperTorch)
  • For a Few Demons More by Kim Harrison (eos)
  • The Outlaw Demon Wails by Kim Harrison (eos)
  • Wedding Day Murder by Leslie Meier (Kensington)
  • Birthday Party Murder by Leslie Meier (Kensington)
  • Father's Day Murder by Leslie Meier (Kensington)
I'll probably do one post with some mini-reviews for these.

I also read these children's books:
  • Chester by Melanie Watt
  • Mrs. McTats and Her Houseful of Cats by Alyssa Satin (Illustrated by Joan Rankin)
I'll probably review both of these, but definitely Chester.

Currently Reading:
  • Star Spangled Murder by Leslie Meier (Kensington)
In the week to come...
  • New Year's Eve Murder by Leslie Meier
  • White Witch, Black Curse by Kim Harrison
  • The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
  • Graceling by Kristin Cashore
So last week I asked for recommendations from the MANY library books I had/have checked out. The main recommendations were for YA books (which also make up the bulk of the close to 50 books I have out), but found I wasn't in the mood for YA. This week I'll be taking those recommendations in account. Also, it's a little late, but I hope to comment on Barney's Book Blog about The Hunger Games.

Oh, and my copy of The Hobbit is still missing, but if I find it, that's on the list as well.

  7. Jennifer - I've heard so many great things about both The Hunger Games and Graceling that I'm kinda nervous to try them. Nevertheless...

Shy and Chrissie - Thanks and likewise.

Lydia - When I'm avoiding something I read. I've been having money issues... hence, the productiveness.

Jan von Harz - I hadn't even thought as far as Catching Fire, let alone the 3rd in the series. Oh, boy. Sounds like The Iron King is another book to be added to the Books-To-Read list. =)

Sarah - They have me totally hooked. I just got White Witch, Black Curse from the library today. I had to wait the weekend out, and that was too much. I don't know how I'm going to handle waiting for Black Magic Sanction since I'm 11th in line. I was not planning to get so caught up in this series. Nor was I planning to get so emotional about them.

  9. Some of these authors are new to me. That is what is great about this meme.

If you liked The Historian, I think that you will like The Swan Thieves. The style is really similar, just this time it centers on painters as opposed to Vlad.
